Alexandra Schaney is a 7 year old girl who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in April of 2004. Neuroblastoma is a rare cancer affecting less than 600 children nationwide every year. This complex cancer affects the sensitive nervous system and the Adrenal Glands. Alexandra has undergone numerous treatment courses and throughout her ordeal has exhibited a spirit and attitude that has carried her family and her supporters through her personal ordeal.
Alexandra is always thinking of others and in July of 2006 sold her own toys in order to help purchase games for children under treatment at the Carolina Medical Center in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.Click here to read article
Alexandra is presently undergoing treatment at Sloan Kettering in New York and Carolina Medical Center in her hometown of Charlotte, NC. Alexandra and her parents have made many extended stays in New York during her periods of treatment. Medical bills and travel expenses are mounting and to help provide financial relief to the family we are asking for your support.
Alexandra's Butterflies of Hope has been instrumental in raising funds, arranging for transportation and providing other assistance in the treatment process. We have learned much in helping Alexandra and wish to share with other suffering children and their families what we have learned about this condition and its treatment.
We appreciate your support and please spread the word.
